Message I had been seriously looking at tool boxes for the last few weeks and was almost sure I'd be buying new because of my student discount through SO and Matco. My original thread

Fast forward to today, I picked up a bunch of stuff from an old guy off craiglist for 500 bucks!

Snap On KRA2312, In decent overall shape with double slides on the big drawers. The only downside is he couldn't find the keys. Not a big deal as this box will be used only at home for now.

The box was FULL when I first came to look at it. All Matco, Snap on, Cornwell tools. I'm surprised he didn't have a nicer box with all the money in tools too be honest.

He also gave me an anditional box that bolts on to the side of the roll cab that has a bunch of drawers and a bench vice, I don't think it's SO though. I actually just snapped my bench vice my dad gave me that has got to be 30+ years old last week and this one is almost identical :)

I also got a transmission jack, 4 jack stands, a service cart, and an assortment of hammers. From the looks of everything in the house he is getting ready to move and just wants stuff gone. He said call him later this week and he will show me his 20+ air tools, 5 compressors, and I can go through the hand tools. He didn't have time to show me today and I didn't have the cash on me. I'm hoping tool prices will be similar to what I paid for this last lot. It would be nice if he found the keys to both boxes too.

I know this is SO's cheapest box but overall I couldn't be happier. The brand new boxes I was considering were really overkill for my needs at this time and I'm much happier spending 500 than 1500+
